Where does this mess come from?

Laundry, dishes, general housework...... they are calling me all day long, every day! Sometimes I wonder... what am I doing? I use to feel so overwhelmed! God has blessed me with our home and everything in it! I want to please him, even in taking care of my home!

Years ago I came across a website called Flylady.net I found it were interesting and very overwhelming! But I have to say that Flylady has been a lifesaver for me. I get daily emails telling me what "zone" it is for that week and diff. ways to clean up that area. She tells you to spend about 15 minutes doing each task each day. The main goal is that by spending a week in a certain area and rotating that over a couple of weeks, you will have a clean "total" room.

For example, the zone for this week is zone 1- the front porch and entrance & dining room. You will be given diff. tasks to do in those areas. Today is sweeping the front porch, looking for cobwebs and wiping down your front door.

Once I got use to getting the email and weeding through and finding which ones I wanted to read and which ones I just trashed, it really began to make sense and be effective for me.

My suggestion is to go to Flylady.net and look on the far left column for Baby Beginner Steps. Read through that section first and go from there. You can pick and choose what you want to do. You don't have to do everything at once.... don't get overwhelmed! It will begin to make sense to you over time.

If you struggle with getting everything done, or feel like you are spinning your wheels, go check Flylady out. You might find you like it as much as I do!

I had to pop over from Sherry's blog. I homeschooled my 20 year old all the way through to graduation and am currently h.s. our 15 year old.

I love Flylady too. She just makes it fun and breaks it down, doesn't she? Your blog is so pretty!

Great suggestion! I kind of do the same thing with Outlook on my computer. I set up a list of rotating chores and my computer reminds me to do one each day. If I were ever home (we travel a LOT) it might actually work!
