Go Hawks!!!

We are a sports loving family. I grew up around sports my whole life, my hubby played football in high school. My kiddos have also developed a love for sports. Josh loves any kind of sport, esp. if it has to do with any Atlanta team- Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers. Annalee loves softball, baseball, basketball and soccer but doesn't care to much for football except for the New Orleans Saints. Her favorite player is Drew Brees.
Last week my sister-in-law called and asked if we might be interested in free tickets to see the Atlanta Hawks play basketball. Considering that Josh and Annalee watch them every time they are on TV, I said "YES"! Insert the fact that my hubby does NOT like basketball, I told her to go ahead and get them for us!
I gently told my hubby what had transpired that day and to say that he did not share my excitement is an understatement! "Oh, boy" he said! I told him that he should be excited for the kids. We would have never bought our own Hawk's tickets so we should enjoy and be grateful for these free ones, right?
Well, he went along with it. We didn't tell the kids about the tickets until the Friday night before. They were so excited!!!
We had no trouble getting to the arena and finding parking. The game was not crowded and we had pretty decent seats and the Hawks won!
Waiting for the game to start....Go Hawks!
Getting the game started. The Hawks are in the White uniforms, they played the Pacers.

The final score! Hawks win! Sorry it is so blurry,,, I guess I moved :)

After the game we asked Daddy if he had fun and he said "Yeah". I later asked him if he wanted to do it again and he said "NO"! What a trooper! :) The kids had fun and that is all that matters, right?!

Deck the Scarbary Halls

I love to decorate for Christmas. I love the smell of the Christmas tree and listening to Christmas music that reminds me of the real meaning of Christmas..... the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bringing out the decorations reminds me of our Christmas' gone by and how fast time truly flies by.
We started decorating the day after Thanksgiving and I thought I would give you little pre-view of our decorations. My sweet little helper was into it this year and was a huge help.

My sweet little Elf

As you can tell from this picture.... Josh was not the least bit concerned with decorating the house. He was more interested in the football game that was going on :) That's my boy!

This tower was the creation made by my little elf. She wanted to see how many snow village boxes she could stack with out them crashing down on her.

I will leave you with a little peak at one of our trees. Check back soon for the photo tour of our finished decorations :)
Hope you are feeling the warmth and love of Jesus this Christmas Season!

Remember Me?

It has been a while! We have been so busy with school, softball and life that I have not taken the time to blog.

Softball is now over until January and I have a lot to update you on about that. It has been a good break but now I am ready to get back to something that I enjoy and one thing that is just for me:) I have missed all my blog friends :)

Can you believe that it is Christmas time?!

Go Braves!!!!

My son loves the Atlanta Braves. He can tell you everything and anything there is to know about them. I always tell him if he would pay the same attention to his school work as he does to the Braves he would make all 100's! No matter if the Braves are on a winning streak or a loosing streak, he is a faithful fan.

We have been blessed to be able to go to 2 Braves games this season, Josh and Annalee both had so much fun!!! We always try to make it to at least one game a year. I can remember going to the Braves game when I was in high school. My favorite part was getting the yummy steamed hot dogs. The ones they have now are hardly worth eating. They are steamed like the old ones were.

Well, I don't know how many of you follow baseball but the Atlanta Braves made the playoffs! Josh is so excited! He told us from the beginning of baseball season that the Braves were going to make the playoffs and he was right!

The first Braves playoff game is tonight, so Josh will be planted in front of the TV for the evening doing the tomahawk chop!!!!

GOOOOOOO BRAVES!!!!!

Fall Fabulous

I love this time of year! The pumpkins, cooler weather, and leaves changing colors. I have never really decorated for Fall that much but over the years I have collected some things that we really enjoy pulling out of the basement :)
This is our decor so far......
I love this candy dish :) It always sits on my kitchen counter with either these candy pumpkins or candy corn.
These are new to our collection this year.... my DD had to have them :) We waited until they went on sale, of course!!!!

I always have a candle burning in the kitchen.... I LOVE this new fall candle... It really smells pumpkiny :)

That is all I have so far. I plan on getting our pumpkins this weekend..... now that it has finally gotten a little cooler, I am in the mood for more fall decorating :)

Have a great Fall Monday :)

Do it yourself Candlestick idea

I have always loved candlesticks and especially the over sized ones. I do not love the price though!!!! I came across this DIY candlestick project that was to good not to pass on. This project is definitely on my to-do list. I love projects that are quick, easy and inexpensive!

Visit Katie at Impatiently Praying for Patience for her Candlestick idea. You will be glad you did :)

Happy Thursday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I thought it would be fun to do something different, so I am joining Jamie for her...

I'm LOVING that we are getting some cooler weather in our area. With the change in temperature comes my craving for Coffee. I recently realized that my old coffee maker had bit the dust so I had to purchase another one. I decided on this one.....

I'm LOVING the fact that it is programmable and I can wake up in the mornings to the aroma of fresh coffee!

And, speaking of coffee.... I'm LOVING this Folgers Simply Smooth. This doesn't give me the tummy troubles that regular coffee does.

A cup of coffee isn't complete without a yummy creamer. I love flavored creamers and I'm LOVING this Coffee-mate Cinnamon Vanilla Creme. It is soooo yummy ;)

Laundry is an issue at our house. We have well water that loves to stain our clothes a lovely orange color. I have ruined a lot of clothes over the years since we have been in this house. I have finally found something that will get those set in water stains out as well as other hard stains..... I am LOVING this Oxy Clean Max Force gel stick!!!

It really works wonders :) I can't sing it's praises enough :)

And finally.... I'm LOVING the Bounce Dryer Bar! I would always forget to put the fabric softener in and I dislike those pesky dryer sheets. (One day my hubby went to work with one in his pants..hehehe) The first one I bought really did last right at 4 months! I love the Fresh Linen scent. Our clothes smell sooo good when they come out of the dryer and no static cling!

So there you have it.... My first What I'm Loving Wednesday! Be sure to visit Jamie to get in on more LOVING!

Happy Wednesday!

Backdoor Friends

We have been in our house for 4 years now. It is so hard to believe it has been that long. When we found our house, we loved it but there were a few things we wanted to change. One of the main things was to add steps to our back deck. We felt like there needed to be access out of the back of the house from the upstairs.
Last week we finally were able to add on a set of steps as well as a walk way. It really turned out so much prettier than I had envisioned. I am so thankful to have this finally completed! :)

After:

We are beyond thrilled with the way it turned out!

Now our "backdoor" friends won't have to see our yucky garage!!!!

Say Cheese!

I love to take photographs... especially of my children. Years ago I had a wonderful Minolta camera that my hubby surprised me with for Christmas. I loved that camera. One day it just disappeared.... I have no idea what happened...I carried it every where I went.

After that camera, I never really had another that I liked like that Minolta. About 6 months ago my little camera started giving me trouble. I joke with the kids, but it is sadly true, that I have no pictures of them from the past 4 years. :(

Well, a few weeks ago I decided to purchase this.....

I have had so much fun over the weekend playing with this wonderful camera! I got such a great deal on it that I could not pass it up ;

Be prepared to read posts with lots of pictures!

Have a wonderful Monday!
