Spring fun

My hubby and I love to work in the yard. We love to buy things off the "distressed" rack and watch them thrive at home!
Here are a couple of my flowers we have in our yard.... bought off the "distressed" rack!

When we bought our house 3 years ago..... there was little to no yard... Dean and Josh have been working hard to get some grass growing. Their hard work is beginning to show!!!
Here they are getting ready to spread some more seed!

Here is my sweet girl washing the van.... she is always busy doing something!!!

League Champions!!

We are so excited for Annalee! She has really worked hard this season in softball and really loves to play!
Her team, the Lightning, won the League Championship!
On the way home after the team party she said that she was sad that is was over and she wanted to play softball during the summer. That evening her coach called and told her she made the all-star team! She was soooo excited! We are so proud of her and look forward to seeing her work hard.
She had her first all-star practice last night and it whooped her hiney!!!! It is so different than rec. ball..... but she loved it !!!

Way to go Annalee!!! You have worked so hard this year on so many different things and we are so poud of you!!!!

She is taking the test on the campus of Macon State College. Josh and I are in the lobby of one of the class buildings enjoying watching the people! Is sure does bring back so many memories of college life for me! I look at all of these "kids" and think about how they have their whole lives in front of them! It is really interesting that we have also been seeing a lot of "mature" age students. Who knows.... by the end of the week, I might want to return to school!!! haha

Sunday will be our 18th wedding anniversary! It is so hard to believe that it has been 18 years. The past 3 have been the biggest blur.... when we left SC it was like our hearts and life stopped. We really didn't want to move but knew that was what God wanted us to do. We are finally feeling better about where we are....we are slow people!!!

Friday Funnies~ I have a clean Cat!

Time for Friday Funnies again with Kim at Homesteader's Heart!

How To Give a Cat a Bath Joke

1. Put both lids up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. You may need to stand on the lid.

4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the loud noises, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush three or four times. This provides a "power-wash" and rinse".

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the here and the front door.

7. Standing behind as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

8. The cat will rocket out out, streak through the room and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Sincerely,

The Dog

Hidden Treasure

This week in the Scarbary house it is eat out of the freezer/pantry week. This morning I did the dreaded "see what is in the freezer" trek. It was amazing what was hidden! We will be eating amazingly well this week :) The hubs will be excited :) I found pork chops, chicken wings, chicken tenders, tilapia, pork ribs, vegetable stir fry, tea biscuits, yeast rolls, garlic bread, and lots of diff. veggies that had fallen behind stuff. I know some of these things were in there but a few were surprises! My son saw what I was doing and asked if there was anything in there from when we moved in... gotta love him! No son,,,, I am not that bad :) I haven't tackled the outside freezer yet. It is an chest style.... I think I will wait for hubby to help me.... I am afraid I might fall in :)
It feels wonderful to have a organized freezer....now if I can keep the hubs out of it! He is one of those open the door, throw it in, close the door very quickly before it falls out kind of guy!
Have you cleaned out your freezer lately? You might be surprise what you might find!

Have a great Tuesday!

It's time for......

One day, a little boy opened the big family Bible and was fingering through it. As he turned the page, out fell a leaf which had been pressed in it. He picked up the leaf and ran to his mother. "Mom," he said. "Look what I found. I think it's Adams underwear!"

A Sunday School teacher asked her class if they though Noah did a lot of fishing while he was on the ark.
"Of course not," said one little boy. "How could he? He only had two worms!"

After church one day, a mother asked her daughter what the Sunday School lesson was about. The daughter replied, "Don’t' be scared, you'll get your quilt." The mother was perplexed and couldn't figure out what her daughter could be referring to. So she called the teacher and asked her what the lesson was. The teacher said, "Be not afraid, your Comforter will come."

On Easter Sunday, the minister was giving the children's sermon. He reached into a bag and pulled out an egg. He asked the children if they knew what was inside.
"I know," said one boy. "Panty hose!"

Please visit Kim at Homesteader's Heart for more Friday Funnies!

Writing dest.... DONE!

The 5th grade writing test of 2010 is officially over! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Everything ran smoothly yesterday morning.... I could definitely feel God's presence. I told Annalee about each one of you that said you would pray for her.... her response.... WOW!

I map quested the directions earlier in the week and it said it would take us 48 minutes to get to the testing location. It took us 25 min.! I had already allowed some extra time so when we arrived, we were 45 minutes early! I really think this helped because the test sight was at a library and she was able to look around for some books, one of her favorite things to do!

The topic she was given was perfect for her! She was to write a narrative paper based on the following.....

Some Scientist have developed an underwater city. You were able to spend one day in the city. Write a paper describing your adventure.

I know that this was definitely an answered prayer! This is her favorite style of paper to write! I know it was not a coincidence! It was the precious grace of God and your prayers!

She felt very confident when I picked her up. She was able to finish in the 2 hour time frame and with the 2 page limit!

It will be several weeks before we get her results....I will let you know how she did as soon as I know!

Again, thank you all so much for all of your prayers on Annalee's behalf~ She says "Thank you" also!

I love and appreciate you all!

Happy Thursday friends :)
