Birthday fun!

We had a blast on my daughter's birthday yesterday! She said it was the best birthday of her life!! I kept her busy throughout the day with a few surprises! Here is a recap..... We started the day off at Barnes and Noble/Starbucks with her favorite Caramel Frappacino. This was her first surprise. She loves those (expensive, but worth it for the smile on you new 10 year olds face!) Frappacino's and loves to browse the children's section while sipping! Next we were off the see the Night at the Museum. It was really good, she thought it was better than the first one. Unfortunately there are two words that they could have left out completely....why do that feel the need to do that anyway? Just a heads up....

We had a little time to kill before my husband was able to meet us for dinner so we headed to the Washington park for a little photo shoot! She had a ball.... It was so funny because there were some kids playing in the water and every time we would get near the water they would move to were we were, so we would move....then here they would come!!! Finally the Mom told them to stop! Boy, kids these days!!!

Then we met Daddy for dinner at Quiznos for a torpedo sub... yum!

Then came her next surprise! She got to pick out her very own hermit crab!!!!! She was sooo excited. She had one several years ago and wanted another one. His name is rainbow because he has a rainbow shell. He is hard to see in the picture but believe me, he is in there!

Then it was finally home for ice cream cake and a few presents!

It was such a great day! My baby is 10! I can't believe it!!! sniffsniff..... I love you Annalee!

My baby girl is 10!

Today is a big day at the Scarbary house! My baby girl is turning 10 years old! I have no idea where the time has gone. It really seems like yesterday that she was born! I was always told that time flies but now I know it is so true! I thought I would share a few ( haha) pictures for a walk down memory lane on this big day!
Here is my sweet angel the day she came home from the hospital. The dress she has on was one of mine when I was a baby. I had no idea I was having a girl. My husband and I did not want to find out what we were having and wanted it to be a surprise! Boy where we ever surprised! I had that feeling all through out my pregnancy that is was another boy. I was convinced!!! No doubt in my mind. My labor with her was easy. I started having contractions about 2:00 a.m. and decided to wake the hubby up around 6:00. We took my son to the neighbors and headed to the hospital. When we got there my contractions had stopped but the kept me because I tend to deliver pretty quick. With my son, I had him in 4 hours, so my doctor was afraid I might have her in the car or something! I really had no major discomfort and after I got my epidural I felt nothing!!! My daughter was born at 10:20 a.m. My doctor that delivered her had laryngitis that day and her voice was almost completely gone. When she said "it's a Girl" I had to ask her " What?" She said it again and I said "no way!" It was one of the best surprises of my life! To go from thinking you were having another boy to having a girl was heaven!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I love little boys!!! I would have taken him in a heart beat! Her name comes from my grandmother. I absolutely adored my grandmother. I never knew her middle name was Annalee until she passed away. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to use it for a little girl.

Happy 10th Birthday Baby girl! You have been such a joy to watch grow up. I thank God every day for blessing me with such a beautiful little girl. My prayer for you is that you will continue to grow in your love for the Lord and to continue to put him first in you life. I am so proud of you and how hard you have worked this year in school. It is a privilege and an honor to be your Mom! I love you!

Memorial Day

We had a sunny Memorial Day after all! The whole weekend was off and on rain.... monsoon I should say. Our poor garden in literally drowning! We went to my mother-in-law's for a cookout and swimming. The sun stayed out long enough for the kids to have a ball. Here are a few pictures from the day....

The kids and I made our weekly Publix run this afternoon. It has become our routine to go on Tuesday afternoon, the day before the sale ends. I didn't get a lot of things but I did get a great price on what I got!!!!! Check it out!

Ashamed :(

Yesterday was my Daddy's birthday and I am so ashamed.... ashamed I tell you! I didn't post about it! What is wrong with me??? I am falling off the blogging bandwagon! I did, however, call him and wish him a Happy ?? Birthday!!!

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Daddy!! You are my hero!!!!!

The end is near!!

The official end of school is near here at the Scarbary house.... 8 more days! YIPEEE!!!! I know that you can hear me squeal with delight!!! I meet today with DD teacher via the Internet/phone and make sure all is in order. I need to do a little side note for my momma bragging rights!...... My DD did so well on her 3 other writing portfolios for the year that she did no have to do her final portfolio! We were thrilled! It was a big relief knowing we did not have to throw that in on top of everything else to finish at the end of the school year!

My DS is just glad school is almost over!! He is not one for academics~ unfortunately.... he does just enough to get by.... does that sound like anyone elses son???? Please, tell me yes!

Momma never rests!!!

I have been a wife for 17 years and a momma for almost 14. I have known my husband for more than half my life. I have never had my wife/mom duties put to the test like they were this weekend! I love my family dearly and have come to realize with full force that ...... they cannot function with out me!!!!

My hubby wasn't feeling himself this weekend and both of my kids were sick. They have the all dreaded "spring cold"~ sore throat, runny noses and low grade fevers. I have had to baby them as well as my hubby all weekend! The phrase "Momma ain't got time to be sick" is SOOOOOO true! In between getting the kids medicine and loving on my poor hubby, Momma didn't get much done for herself!!!! And by the way..... why does everyone need what ever they need AFTER Momma might sit down for a few minutes????

All is better this morning and my hubby is back a work... don't get me wrong... I love being a wife and Momma and would not trade it for the world~Maybe just a long weekend~ alone! Just kidding!!!!!! The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children. I am so fortunate to be able to be a stay at home mom and I love it! I know that one day I will miss those runny noses and tissues laying all over the place! I need to be thankful that they still want me to take care of them! Hope your weekend was a great one!!!! Remember ME?

I am still here..... we have been so busy with end of the year school stuff that I have been absent from the blogging world more than I like!

Last night we spent the evening in the ER with my hubby. We were there from 6:00 pm until 10:50 pm. Thankfully, nothing serious was found. He has not been feeling well for the past 6 months and I am hoping that we are beginning to narrow things down to try and find out what might be going on. He is so stubborn and you know if a Man wants to go to the ER, he really doesn't feel well!

I hope to be able to get back to blogging soon.... we have 2 more weeks of school! I can hardly wait for summer!!!

Fishin' in Fla

We went to visit my parents in Florida for the weekend. It was very relaxing! We surprised my Momma for Mother's Day and showed up on her doorstep Friday night. My Daddy was in on the whole thing and at was so much fun to see her reaction.

Saturday afternoon we took the kids fishing off one of the priers down from my parents house. It was a very eventful afternoon.... here is a recap!

Fever? Oh my!

Well, my DD started running a fever after her ball game last night. Yikes! My imagination starts ruining away with this one. Is it Swine Flu? I quickly found out that we were out of Motrin! So, after just getting back from town, my DS and I ran back into town at 9:30 p.m. and got more Motrin and some ice cream ~ for my DD ~ you know ~ to make her feel better! After a dose of Motrin and some ice cream, she was feeling a lot better. I love Motrin..... I can't imagine my life with kids without it!!! What in the world did my Momma do without it?! My DD is feeling better this morning.... as long as she has her Motrin! On a lighter note..... my DD's softball team won their first game last night!! Go Diamonds! She hit a triple and almost caught a pop up! We were so proud!

I haven't posted as much lately because we have been sooooooo busy with the end of the school year. We are trying to finish before my DD birthday. We did get a pleasant surprise in my email last night..... my DD has worked so hard all year on her work that she does not have to turn in her last portfolio assignment. Can I hear a big YIPEEE!!! That is so major for us! Now we can concentrate on lessons full time! She was so excited when I gave her the news ( I think I was more excited!!!)

My next post will be my 100th! I can't believe I have done that many! I plan on having my first giveaway....so stay tuned my blog friends! Hope you have a wonderful Monday!
