Behind? Not me!

I love to scrapbook.  I haven't scrapbooked in over 5 years.  When my kids were babies, I would scrapbook once a month with my girlfriends....something I desperately miss where we live now.
This is a pile of pictures and newspaper clippings from my daughters softball summer.  Her all-star team, the "Explosion", won the state championship and went to the World Series in August.    Then, that all-star team turned into a travel ball team and they won 4 out of 6 tournaments.  We had a blast.  This pile is the memories of that adventure this past summer.
 All of this.......
is going into .....

this!

 Wish me luck :)

Go Hawks!!!

We are a sports loving family. I grew up around sports my whole life, my hubby played football in high school. My kiddos have also developed a love for sports. Josh loves any kind of sport, esp. if it has to do with any Atlanta team- Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers. Annalee loves softball, baseball, basketball and soccer but doesn't care to much for football except for the New Orleans Saints. Her favorite player is Drew Brees.
Last week my sister-in-law called and asked if we might be interested in free tickets to see the Atlanta Hawks play basketball. Considering that Josh and Annalee watch them every time they are on TV, I said "YES"! Insert the fact that my hubby does NOT like basketball, I told her to go ahead and get them for us!
I gently told my hubby what had transpired that day and to say that he did not share my excitement is an understatement! "Oh, boy" he said! I told him that he should be excited for the kids. We would have never bought our own Hawk's tickets so we should enjoy and be grateful for these free ones, right?
Well, he went along with it. We didn't tell the kids about the tickets until the Friday night before. They were so excited!!!
We had no trouble getting to the arena and finding parking. The game was not crowded and we had pretty decent seats and the Hawks won!
Waiting for the game to start....Go Hawks!
Getting the game started. The Hawks are in the White uniforms, they played the Pacers.

The final score! Hawks win! Sorry it is so blurry,,, I guess I moved :)

After the game we asked Daddy if he had fun and he said "Yeah". I later asked him if he wanted to do it again and he said "NO"! What a trooper! :) The kids had fun and that is all that matters, right?!

Time to brag!!

This school year has been such a busy one for my kids, especially Annalee.

I have been so proud of all her accomplishments this year. With her 11th birthday being last week, I decided it was a great time to brag on her a little!!!!

1. She PASSED the CRCT with flying colors!!!!

2. Her portfolio paper on the state of Georgia scored the highest out of 83 fifth grade papers! Her teacher said she honestly could not find a single problem with the paper! She scored a 5's all the way across the Rubric scale.

3. She meet the standards for her State mandatory 5th grade writing test. She had to go to a testing sight, was given her topic to write on and had to develop her idea, write the rough draft, and write the final draft in 2 hours. She did great!

4. She finished all the requirements to move on the Middle school!!! (there were too many to list!) She is now officially a 6th grader!

5. Her softball team won every game and are League Champions!

6. She made the All-star team and will play in several tournaments this summer!

7. She completed her year in Bible Study Fellowship and studied the whole book of John!

Annalee,

You have worked so hard this year and all your hard work has paid off!!! I am so very proud of you!!!!!

love, Momma xoxox

P.S. This friday is Josh's birthday..... I will brag on him them also!!!! hehehe :)

Writing dest.... DONE!

The 5th grade writing test of 2010 is officially over! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Everything ran smoothly yesterday morning.... I could definitely feel God's presence. I told Annalee about each one of you that said you would pray for her.... her response.... WOW!

I map quested the directions earlier in the week and it said it would take us 48 minutes to get to the testing location. It took us 25 min.! I had already allowed some extra time so when we arrived, we were 45 minutes early! I really think this helped because the test sight was at a library and she was able to look around for some books, one of her favorite things to do!

The topic she was given was perfect for her! She was to write a narrative paper based on the following.....

Some Scientist have developed an underwater city. You were able to spend one day in the city. Write a paper describing your adventure.

I know that this was definitely an answered prayer! This is her favorite style of paper to write! I know it was not a coincidence! It was the precious grace of God and your prayers!

She felt very confident when I picked her up. She was able to finish in the 2 hour time frame and with the 2 page limit!

It will be several weeks before we get her results....I will let you know how she did as soon as I know!

Again, thank you all so much for all of your prayers on Annalee's behalf~ She says "Thank you" also!

I love and appreciate you all!

Happy Thursday friends :)

Prayer Request :)

I love knowing that there are a few people that read my blog and leave me sweet comments. I refer to yall as my blog friends to my hubby and appreciate each one of you.
I wanted to ask for prayer for my DD tomorrow. She will be taking a mandatory state writing test. She is a wonderful writer but she is soooo nervous. She is to report at 10:30a.m. and be given either a persuasive, narrative or informative paper. She will not know which paper or topic until she opens her test booklet.

Please pray the she will not be nervous and for her to do her best! I know she can but I also know what it is like to be nervous about something.

Thanks so much in advance for you prayers.... I appreciate each one of you :)

Happy Tuesday!

Momma dropped the ball... Boo.

I had a sad Mommy moment this weekend.... a very sad " I let my daughter down" moment. Boo. One of those that will haunt me for the rest of my Mommy life. Boo.
Last week Annalee came running down the driveway after checking the mail. She had received a letter in the mail and was so excited to find out that she was going to get to be in a Christmas parade with her AWANA group from church. How exciting.... right! I mean, I have never been in a Christmas parade before!
Her excitement grew and I keep the date IN MY HEAD for Sunday.... she needed to be there at 1:30 and the parade began at 3:00. I even called my sister-in-law to see if she and her little boy would like to go!
Any hew...... Saturday I got up early and was at Walmart shopping by 7:00. I was so proud of myself.... so organized.... I usually have not begun shopping this early in Dec. That afternoon Dean worked on his 4runner after this incident.... and me and the kids, and the sister-in-law and her son hung around my mother-in-laws house with Dean while he worked.... bored....nothing really to do.
So,,,, fast forward to Sunday morning. I get up with my mind filled with all we needed to do, and take for the parade. Blankets, chairs, camera, Annalee needed her earmuffs, jacket, gloves and ... was her AWANA shirt clean? Oh no.... ahhh yes, it is actually hanging in her closet ready to go! The morning progresses in its usual Sunday morning joy..... we get in the van and actually make it to church on time. I tell Annalee that I will find out where we need to meet for the parade. She is soooooo excited.
Meanwhile, Dean, Josh and I are in the service (Annalee is in Children's Church) and the preacher is preaching a wonderful sermon. He is preaching on reaching others for Christ when we heard something on these lines....." You have to go to where the people are.... like yesterday.... I walked in the Bolingbroke parade. The AWANA kids were on their float, throwing candy.." .......ahhhhh excuse me.... what did he just say????? The AWANA kids were what?? Yesterday???? Dean immediately looked at me.... Josh had no clue.... he ,sadly, doesn't pay attention to the sermons.... I about dropped my Bible..... The parade what,,, it's what,...not today? THE PARADE WAS NOT SUNDAY , IT WAS SATURDAY!!!!! Keep in mind from above,,,, we were at my MILs bored,,, nothing to do,,, while the PARADE was going on! Boo. Boo. Boo. Immediately I thought of Annalee.... how was I going to handle my broken hearted daughter??? And to top it all off..... it was 100% MY FAULT!!!
I went to pick her up from Children's Church and when I saw the look on her face.... I knew that she already knew. Her Momma let her down :( Boo.
I told her that I was soooo sorry and that it was completely my fault. She was bummed but said it was okay. Really it wasn't. I clearly dropped the ball. I am the Momma, it is my job to keep up with things. This was the first time I have messed something like this up for her. Dean was so sweet in trying not to make me feel like a dog. But like I told him ... this was important to her.... I just hate it.
She got over it quickly when we let her pick where she wanted to eat for lunch. She kept telling me it was okay. But from here on out the subject of "parades" will truly have new meaning here at the Scarbary house! And you better believe, Momma will be more careful :/
Boo.

Birthday Photo Shoot

I love to take pictures, especially pictures of my kids. I decided to get out my old Canon and try it out. On Annalee's 10th birthday, we headed to the local photo spot and took some great pictures. I think they turned out okay considering I am by not means a pro! I wanted to share them with you.
