Cookie Score :)
I came across a recipe this weekend that I tried and have fallen in love with. I have a love for craisins. I love their tartness and the kids love them as well. I notice a recipe on the back of the bag that I thought was worth trying. After the big taste test....they are kid approved at our house and will definitely be made again.
They are super easy!
Hope you give them a try....enjoy :)
Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookies
2/3 cup butter of margarine, softened
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teas. baking soda
1/2 teas. salt
1 6 oz. (1 1/4 cups) package dried cranberries
2/3 cup white chocolate chunks or chips
Preheat oven to 375* Using an electric mixer, beat butter or margarine and sugar together in a medium mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mixing well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate mixing bowl. Add to butter mixture in several additions, mixing well after each addition. Stir in cranberries and white chocolate chunks. Drop by rounded teas. onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Makes approx. 2 1/2 dozen.
*Next time I am going to try semi-sweet Chocolate chips in place of the white chocolate chips for fun :)

A New Adventure
My son is a sports fanatic. Baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer....you name it ....he watches it on TV. The only sports that he has played are baseball and basketball. He was great at both, but with our move, he never found his "nitch" on a team. Well, after 5 years, he has decided that he is going to try baseball again. We are blessed to have a homeschool baseball team in our area. He was a little nervous but went right on out there with the other boys and practiced. He did really well and looked like he felt really comfortable with the other boys.
I was so proud of him! We had to start from scratch as far as equipment goes, so needless to say, we have some money invested now. Bat, batting gloves, mitt ect. But, it will be worth every penny to watch him have fun.
Here he is catching a fly ball....and yes, he did catch it! I will keep you posted on how he does. Between his baseball and my daughter's softball....we will stay busy! But this Momma loves every minute of it!
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Friday Funnies
Each week I love to find funny stories for the Friday Funnies...there are so many to choose from! Hope you enjoy.....
Walking down the street, a man passes a house and notices a child trying to reach the doorbell. No matter how much the little guy stretches, he can't make it. The man calls out, "Let me get that for you," and he bounds onto the porch to ring the bell. "Thanks, mister," says the kid. "Now let's run."
Says one humorist: "Life is unfair. I lost my car keys at a ball game and never found them. I lost my sunglasses at the beach and never found them. I lost my socks in the washing machine and never found them. I lost three pounds on a diet -- I found them and five more."

Behind? Not me!
I love to scrapbook. I haven't scrapbooked in over 5 years. When my kids were babies, I would scrapbook once a month with my girlfriends....something I desperately miss where we live now.
This is a pile of pictures and newspaper clippings from my daughters softball summer. Her all-star team, the "Explosion", won the state championship and went to the World Series in August. Then, that all-star team turned into a travel ball team and they won 4 out of 6 tournaments. We had a blast. This pile is the memories of that adventure this past summer.

Ice, Ice, Baby!
Living in the South, we get excited when there is the talk of SNOW! Schools, stores and life as we know it comes to a halt with just a few inches. A couple of weeks ago we had snow/ice in the forecast. Even thought we didn't get much snow we did get ice~that would not melt for days. Thankfully, we did not loose electricity during our ice wonderland. Hubby was off for a day and we did have a wonderful time hanging out by the fireplace, roasting marshmallow, and making smores.
Our fountain water was solid ice.
We couldn't even open the mailbox....there was no mail anyway... we live of a rural road and the mail "lady" stayed home for the day!
Josh roasting hot dogs, followed by marshmallows :)
The kids decided that they wanted to camp out in the den and had a blast. I couldn't resist taking this sweet picture. Aren't they angels? (esp. when they are asleep!)
Well, so far that has been our "blizzard" of 2011. The kids are praying for real snow sometime before spring....we will see what happens.

Friday Funnies
It's that time again!!!!
During a visit to the doctor, a lady of many years asked him, “How do you determine whether or not a retiree should be put in an old age home?”
“Well,” he said, “we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the retiree and ask him or her to empty the bathtub”
“Oh, I understand,” she said. “A normal person would use the bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup.”
“No” he said. “A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?”

Friday Funnies
A Florida senior citizen drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the
dealership. Taking off down the road, he pushed it to 80 mph, enjoying the
wind blowing through what little hair he had left.
“Amazing,” he thought as he flew down I-75, pushing the pedal even more.
But looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a State Trooper behind him; blue
and red lights flashing and siren blaring.
He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, “What am
I doing? I’m too old for this,” and pulled over to await the trooper’s arrival.
Pulling in behind him, the trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch
and said, “Sir, my shift ends in 15 minutes, plus today is Friday. If you can give me a
reason for speeding that I’ve never heard before, I’ll let you go.”
The old gentleman paused then said, “Three years ago, my wife ran off
with a Florida State Trooper. I thought you were bringing her back.”
“Have a good day, sir;” replied the trooper.

Go Hawks!!!
We are a sports loving family. I grew up around sports my whole life, my hubby played football in high school. My kiddos have also developed a love for sports. Josh loves any kind of sport, esp. if it has to do with any Atlanta team- Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers. Annalee loves softball, baseball, basketball and soccer but doesn't care to much for football except for the New Orleans Saints. Her favorite player is Drew Brees.
Last week my sister-in-law called and asked if we might be interested in free tickets to see the Atlanta Hawks play basketball. Considering that Josh and Annalee watch them every time they are on TV, I said "YES"! Insert the fact that my hubby does NOT like basketball, I told her to go ahead and get them for us!
I gently told my hubby what had transpired that day and to say that he did not share my excitement is an understatement! "Oh, boy" he said! I told him that he should be excited for the kids. We would have never bought our own Hawk's tickets so we should enjoy and be grateful for these free ones, right?
Well, he went along with it. We didn't tell the kids about the tickets until the Friday night before. They were so excited!!!
We had no trouble getting to the arena and finding parking. The game was not crowded and we had pretty decent seats and the Hawks won!
Waiting for the game to start....Go Hawks!
Getting the game started. The Hawks are in the White uniforms, they played the Pacers.
The final score! Hawks win! Sorry it is so blurry,,, I guess I moved :)
After the game we asked Daddy if he had fun and he said "Yeah". I later asked him if he wanted to do it again and he said "NO"! What a trooper! :) The kids had fun and that is all that matters, right?!
